東京から自転車と新幹線を使って来てくれた歴女にインタビューしてみました！ / I interviewed a girl who like history and used a bicycle and Shinkansen from Tokyo!

—関門エリアに来たのは何回目ですか？
—How many times have you visited the Kanmon area?
初めてです。
It is our first time.
—ここまでどうやって来ましたか？
—How did you come here?
東京から岡山県まで自転車で、その後は新幹線で近くの駅まで来ました。
I bicycled from Tokyo to Okayama, after that I came to a nearby station by Shinkansen.
—えっ！自転車？本当に？
—What!? By bicycle? Really?
はい。9月25日に出発して10月10日に下関に着きました。
Yes. I departed on September 25th and arrived at Shimonoseki on October 10th.
—それはすごく大変そうですね。実際にどうでしたか？
—That seems so hard. How was it actually?
私にとってもはじめての試みで、膝と足がとっても痛いです。野宿しながらここまで来ました。
This is my first attempt and my knees and legs are very painful. I came here while sleeping rough.
—何日間滞在の予定ですか？
—How long will you stay?
明後日にはここを出て萩や広島、高知に行く予定です。自転車での移動中に台風で足止めされた事もあって、ここまで来るのに時間がかかってしまいました。
I will be leaving here the day after tomorrow and going to Hagi and Hiroshima, Kochi. It was stopped by a typhoon while I was traveling by bicycle, so it took a while to come here.
—どうして関門エリアに？
—Why did you visit Kanmon area this time?
歴史が大好きで。特に幕末が。マニアックですが、江戸時代の人達が東京から下関まで歩いていた事を知って、自転車ですがその大変さを体験してみたくなりました。
I love history. Especially the end of Edo period. Although I am a maniac, I knew that the people of the Edo period were walking from Tokyo to Shimonoseki, I wanted to experience the difficulty though it was a bicycle.
—観光にあたっては何を参考にしましたか？
—What did you refer to for sightseeing?
図書館で歴史の本をたくさん読みました。ツイッターやインスタをやっているので、#チャリ旅や、#surlyなどで検索しました。自転車に上手に荷物を載せる方法も見たりしました。
I have read many books of history in the library. I use Twitter and Instagram, and I searched for “#chari-journey”, “#surly” and so on. I also saw a way to put my luggage well on my bicycle.
—このパネルの中で実際に食べてみたものや、食べてみたいものはありますか？
—Is there anything you actually ate or want to eat in this panel?
瓦そば食べました！「魚正本陣」で勧められて。美味しかったです！
I ate Kawarsa soba! Recommended by “Uomasa-Honjin”. It was delicious!
—このパネルの中で実際に行ったことのあるところや、行ってみたいところはありますか？
—Are there any places you actually went or want to visit in this panel?
「赤間神宮」や「関門トンネル」は行きました。他にも長府の歴史博物館や東行庵、吉田松陰が訪れた鈴ヶ森稲荷神社など。
I went “Akama Shrine” and “Kanmon Tunnel”. I also went to Historical Museum in Chofu , Togyoan, Suzugamori Inari Shrine visited by Yoshida Shoin and others.
—このエリアを旅して満足したポイントや、残念だったポイントはありますか？
—Are there any points that you felt satisfied, or dissatisfied while traveling this area?
この辺は自転車専用道路があって嬉しいです。海のそばを走れるので気持ちいい。下関駅から秋芳洞へのバスをもう一度復活して欲しいです。
It is nice to have a bike-only road around here. It feels good to run by the sea. I would like to revive the bus from Shimonoseki station to Akiyoshido again.
